Seattle cometh...

Due to the gross mismatch of names from the Bay Area/San Fran I'm looking to expand this project to Seattle as well....so it would be:

Here's the drill....

Hey everybody...

This is a call out to all poster & print artists in the Portland and San Francisco area (Yes, this includes Berkeley & Oakland),.. it's time to represent your town. Both Portland and the Bay Area have a deep history for poster art and are also tied together by similar social/political atmospheres and environments. Both towns are epicenters of creativity and the goal of this project is to create a "bridge" in which both can somehow work together.

Here is how it works. Contributors from one city will be paired up with a contributor from another, and together they will work on a print. The team can come up with whatever they want, but both artists must work on it.

Poster info:
- Both artists must work on the print.
- I know most of you are gigposter artists, this isn't going to be a show piece... in other words it isn't advertising for anything and can be whatever you want. The only requirement is that there is some slight reference to either Portland or the Bay Area (it could be a landmark or something as small as someone wearing a "Raiders" shirt).
- No requirement on size. Traditional 18 x 24' maybe best but this isn't enforced. I'd say no smaller then 13' x 19'.

Teams:
- If you know of someone who you would like to work with in the opposite city feel free to drop me a note.
- If there is someone you would like to work with but don't know, let me know. I can help try and facilitate it.
- Those who don't really know anyone... once I get commitments from most people I will have a list up people can look at and we can go from there.

Printing:
- All artwork will remain property of the artists. I will use some of the art to help promote the project (web, fliers, print, etc..) with artists approval.
- Size of print run will be determined (looking at 50).
- All prints will be screenprinted
- Those of you that don't print your own stuff, or feel more comfortable w/ someone else printing... I can help. I use 2 very reliable printers in the Bay Area.

Dates:
- Commitment date (Team-ups will occur before this date): Feb. 15th, 2008
- Final Art: August 15th, 2008
- Prints due (if self-printing): September 15th, 2008

This project is in conjunction with The Bridge Project Anthology which will premiere at APE (Alternative Press Expo) in November, 2008.

Gallery exhibits are in the works around this time for both Portland & San Francisco.
